The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.
Applications are now open and can shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a house which has a combined gross house income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply check here timeously and not to wait until the last day.
